Houssem is a Tunisian globe trotter/adventurer (77 countries visited) and environmental activist. Since 2015, he has been President of Tunisie Recyclage, whose goal is to recover and recycle all recyclable materials directly from homes and schools. He has succeeded in creating environmental clubs and introducing selective sorting in 40 schools. Houssem is also Co-founder & President of the Soli & Green collective, which is active in the field of climate change. The association has succeeded in reforesting 300,000 trees planted to date. He is also co-founder and Chairman of the Tounes Clean UP association, which organizes regular clean-up operations (170 operations to date, 300 km covered). He is also co-founder of the Réseau Tunisie Verte (Green Tunisia Network), which focuses on environmental advocacy. In addition to his ecological activism in Tunisia, Houssem has taken part in a number of humanitarian and ecological actions abroad. He worked in a refugee camp in Belgrade in 2015, and collected data on sharks at Aliwal Shoal in South Africa. He was a volunteer at an elephant rescue center in Thailand, and many other actions make him our EARTH PROTECTOR of the week.
